43% of prime London properties priced over £1m

Research has revealed 43% of the 4,708 prime London homes listed in the past month were priced at £1m or more.

London lettings and estate agent Benham and Reeves has analysed Zoopla data and identified the most expensive neighbourhoods in the capital.

Mayfair topped these rankings, where 93% of properties listed in the last month have been priced at £1m and more.

Knightsbridge was close behind with a 90% proportion, and Barns third at 82%.

At the other end of the table, only 23% of properties recently listed in Clapham were priced at £1m and more.

Canary Wharf, Wandsworth and Maida Vale have also seen some of the lowest levels of £1m+ properties entering the market (24%).

Commenting on these findings, Benham and Reeves director Marc von Grundherr said though the high end of the London market had been muted recently, he took confidence from how many were being priced at over £1m.

“As this year progresses and this initial activity translates into completed sales, we should see a far more stable outlook with respect to high end London house price performance,” added Marc.
